Ignatian Exercises Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information the 19th Annotation app ("the App") collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. The App is a personal daily prayer and journaling companion built around a guided, multi-week Ignatian Spiritual Exercises program.
Information We Collect
When you create an account and use the App, we collect:
Account information: the email address and display name you provide when you register, handled through Firebase Authentication.
Content you create: journal entries, freeform notes, and any mood or tags you attach to them.
Progress information: which week/day of the program you're on, your streak, and timestamps of when you listened to or completed a session.
Notification preferences: the reminder time you set for daily prompts, if you enable notifications. These are scheduled locally on your device; we do not use a remote push notification service.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or any information beyond what's listed above. We do not use advertising or analytics tracking services.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide solely to operate the App: to authenticate your account, save and display your journal entries and notes, track your progress through the program, and let you pick up where you left off across sessions and devices.
Where Your Information Is Stored
Your data is stored using Google's Firebase platform (Cloud Firestore for your entries, profile and progress; Firebase Authentication for your login credentials). Firebase encrypts data in transit and at rest, and access to your personal data (journal entries, notes) is restricted to your own authenticated account through the App's security rules — we do not have a separate admin interface that displays your personal journal content.
Sharing of Information
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Your data is only accessible to Google/Firebase as our infrastructure provider, under their own data processing terms, and is used solely to provide the App's functionality to you.
Your Choices
You can edit or delete individual journal entries and notes within the App. To request full deletion of your account and all associated data, contact us using the email address below, and we will delete your account and data within a reasonable time.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
